‘Political Drills (The Media)’ is the first ever Drill vinyl. It comments directly on racial profiling and authoritarian methods of repressing the music genre. The message aims to embolden young people in pursuit of their artistic endeavours, urging them to give everything to their art, rather than getting involved in the traps of serious youth violence. A collaboration with artist Andrei Molodkin.

About the project

Political Drills

Andrei Molodkin, Skengdo x AM and Drillminister

In 2019, the art world and Drill scene came together for an unprecedented collaboration against artistic censorship. Russian artist Andrei Molodkin and London Drill musicians Drillminister and Skengdo x AM united for The Media – a project to inspire young people to give their blood to artistic freedom rather than spilling it on the streets. Launched at The Saatchi Gallery, Molodkin invited young people to donate their blood to his sculptural installation Young Blood whilst premiering ‘Political Drills’ – a new track directed by the artist featuring Drillminister and Skengdo x AM.
